When I try to install a SUPERAntiSpyware program update, the list of available updates is blank, or the download fails with no error message. How do I fix this? Click here to return to the FAQ page!

To check for program updates:
  • Close the SUPERAntiSpyware main menu.
  • Right-click the SUPERAntiSpyware icon (the yellow/brown bug) in the system tray (near the Windows system clock).
  • Select the "Check for Updates" option.
In many cases, this issue is resolved simply by restarting Windows. If you haven't done that already, please try that first.

If you have a firewall protecting the computer, be sure the firewall is set to allow SUPERAntiSpyware.exe and SSUpdate.exe to access the Internet.

Occasionally, this issue may be caused by a malware infection. Update your definitions with the "Check for Updates" button on the SUPERAntiSpyware main menu, and run a complete scan to confirm that there is not malware blocking the update process.

In some cases, it's necessary to uninstall SUPERAntiSpyware. Re-install the current version of SUPERAntiSpyware from our web site, and you should no longer have the problem.
